The best Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe?

I still haven’t found it yet, but those were pretty good…

I don’t know what the secret is, to make a chewy and not crispy chocolate chip cookie.
I personally like them soft and chewy. I don’t even want them crisp on the outside. I figured, I always bake them too long. To make chocolate chip cookies this way, you really need a magic feel for the baking time. One minute too long and they get hard.

Well, I am going to keep trying and one day I will succeed!

Recipe (from my secret recipe book)

I added about 1/2 cup chopped pecans and of course I used lactose free margarine instead of butter.

One cookie a day keeps the trouble away!

The best chocolate chip cookies? If you have a KitchenAid stand mixer, try the recipe that came with it…did you get that little recipe book? I swear, I’ve been making these cookies almost every other month for a year now and they turned out perfectly every single time. It’s amazing, really. Don’t have a mixer? It’s OK, you can make them without. Let me know if you want the recipe! I’d be happy to share.

Those are great. But my husband don’t like vanilla extract in a cookie recipe. Can I take away the vanilla extract from the list of ingredients? Maybe it will taste the same with the vanilla extract cookie recipe of yours.

Hi Anne,

My secret to having my cookies come out soft and chewy is to bake the cookies about 1 to 2 minutes less than the recipe requires – my chocolate chip cookies and my Christmas icing cookies always come out soft and yummy if I do this. Sometimes they look like they aren’t baked long enough….. but once they sit out for a few minutes, they are just right. Love your site. Miss you!

Try Alton Brown’s recipe. It uses bread flour and melted better. I too am always looking for the best chocolate cookie recipe, I found these got rave reviews on other blogs. I tried them, and love them. They even stay nice and chewy days later.
